We are actively seeking help from qualified persons with minimal to relatively little previous experience in joining our growing Service Team at J&R Roofing Co., Inc. in Jessup!

Responsibilities

This entry-level position sees you as the primary support for your assigned Service Department Roofing Foreman. In this role you are an understudy as well as assistant in obtaining and providing whatever is needed to complete the current assignment, as directed by the foreman. Your ultimate goal is two-fold. First, assist your foreman in completing the scheduled and assigned work as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible. Second, garner and retain this knowledge to ultimately become promoted to foreman yourself, with better pay, and better perks!

Qualifications

• Must have dependable transportation both to and from work.
• Must pass random drug screen(s) and physical(s) upon request.
• Must have at least 1-year construction experience with shown ability to perform all duties given.
• Must have and wear daily/consistently required safety gear such as steel toed boots, safety glasses, etc. Direction and partial assistance may be offered for items such as hard-hats and reflective vests if required.
• Must have ability to work and perform successfully yet safely in all temperatures and climates, whether frigid and snowing or in blazing heat and humidity.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. materials, climb 50-ft ladders, and overall meet or exceed the physical requirements to perform labor work in this trade, while wearing the required articles of clothing such as aforementioned steel toed boots and safety glasses with safety hats for long periods of time when required.
• In order to gain entry to multiple secure government locations we service, it is also required you:
• o have a valid, clean, and current Driver’s License or ID* (*REAL ID).
• o have a clean background check upon investigation.
• o can pass a random drug-screen and physical upon request (also mentioned above).
• o have proof and full documentation of permanent United States Citizenship.
• Make regular attendance to both normal work hours Monday thru Friday 6AM thru 3PM AND make self available for emergency response upon request, within the given limitations of this role. Emergency response can occur after-hours, during weekends, or even during holidays.
• Must be able to ride multiple long distances and still complete work as assigned within allotted time(s). Our 50 mile service radius extends from the heart of Jessup, MD, up through western MD and just over the PA line, down through Washington DC and down into Virginia just outside Fredericksburg. Currently, most days see no more than 2 to 3 assignments per day, with hours rarely extending beyond 8-9 hours for the day when including lunch break.
