Job Description:

As a Maintenance Worker at J. Rieger & Co., you will play a critical role in maintaining and ensuring the functionality of our facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass routine maintenance tasks, equipment repairs, safety compliance, and sanitation throughout our facility. Your expertise will be essential in preserving a safe, clean, and operational working environment that supports our daily operations and upholds our commitment to excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general utilities. Ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.
  • Facility Repairs: Address and resolve any reported issues related to the building's interior and exterior, including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, and roofing.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks. Identify potential hazards and report them to the appropriate personnel. Comply with all relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a proactive maintenance plan to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities. Create maintenance schedules and keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair production equipment and machinery as needed to ensure smooth operations and reduce downtime.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and track maintenance supplies and materials, ensuring an adequate stock level for prompt repairs and replacements.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers to carry out specialized maintenance tasks when necessary.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Assist with routine cleaning and sanitation of the facilities to maintain a clean and hygienic working environment.

Helpful Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in facilities maintenance is a plus.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools used in maintenance work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
