Equipment Manager

Essential Job Function: Responsible for managing the operations of all equipment, maintenance and repair activities, maintenance personnel and equipment performance, as well as the financial performance.

Job Functions/Duties:

· Implement company objectives and strategies to maintain an effective equipment management program.

· Actively promote safety and quality with all internal and external team members.

· Act a technical advisor to equipment personnel to ensure repairs are completed correctly, within budget and according to schedule.

· Assist management with equipment budgets, equipment repair/rebuild decisions, and potential equipment purchases.

· Maintain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and service representatives.

· Provide direction for equipment maintenance operations including staffing, training, performance management and employee development to foster an engaged workforce.

· Manages acquisitions and disposals.

· Manages outside rental contracts.

· Manages dispatch.

· Reviews and adjusts rental rates to adapt to market conditions or match tunnel job bids.

Job Requirements and Capabilities:

· 10 years’ experience in construction equipment repair and management.

· Has a firm understanding of Construction Equipment Economics.

· Strong supervisory skills and leadership ability.

· Practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment and/or education & experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

· Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources, people, and projects.

· Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet and scheduling software and familiarity with accounting/financial software.

· General knowledge of construction practices (tunneling, excavating, grading, paving, etc.)

· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.

· Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable DVR as approved by insurance company.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires a person to sit or stand for long periods of time; handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis. Ability to lift 50 lb. Work indoors and outdoors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
