Jack Giambalvo Motor Company is now hiring a Painter's Helper for our busy Collision Center. The Painter's Helper will be responsible to assist painter in preparing & refinishing of damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and facility quality specifications.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface prior to painting
• Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface
• Manually operate spray guns and mixing equipment
• Adjust thermostat to maintain specified temperature in paint booth.
• Inspect painted units for runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
• Control direction and pattern of spray and to correct flaws in coating.
• Clean paint from ceiling and walls of booth and maintain filters.
• Hand-spray parts to cover unpainted areas or apply rust preventative.
• Mix paint according to specifications, using viscometer to regulate consistency according to changes in atmospheric conditions.
• Mix paint according to manufacturer recommended ration and color match.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Working knowledge of all aspects of painting body parts and bodies of vehicles helpful. Valid driver's license. Ability to interpret vendor catalogs. Ability to use hand and power tools and other machinery safely.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will lift parts weighing up to 70 pounds. Will use hand and power tools. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, paint, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
