Jackson County Gastroenterology is Hiring a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner Near Independence, MO

Are you a Nurse Practitioner who wants to make a difference and change the way wound care patients are being treated If so, we want you on our team!

Jackson County Gastroenterology is a full-service mobile wound care clinic that is delivering services to patients

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical examinations of patients with gastrointestinal concerns.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastroenterological conditions, including but not limited to IBS, IBD, GERD, and liver diseases.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medications, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and imaging studies.
  • Provide patient education on conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case conferences to discuss complex patient cases.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for each patient encounter.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology through continuing education and professional development.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects within the practice.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license and certification.
  • Previous experience in Gastroenterology or a related specialty is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Dedication to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
