Job Tasks: 

• Use a hot water pressure washer to clean trucks and equipment in a damp cold and sometimes hot environment. 
• Clean and maintain the garage area. 
• Climb a ladder and work 8 – 12 feet off the ground.
• Use the Shop telephone to locate parts.
• Stock shelves.
• Work alone as well as in a team environment.
• Drive parts truck for county business.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Use floor scrubber machine.

Position Requirements:

• A combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements:

• Valid Oregon State Drivers License with acceptable driving history 

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

Environment

• Work is performed primarily in a shop environment; occasional field environment with some travel; 
• Exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; 
• Incumbents will have a flexible work schedule which may require shortened or extended hours including evenings.

Physical: 

• Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a mechanic shop environment; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and twist; push, pull, lift, and/or carry moderate to heavy amounts of weights (up to 75lbs); 
• Operate assigned equipment and vehicles.
