Summary

The Director of Clinical Nursing Operations & Integration is responsible and accountable for managing system nursing clinical operations, integration, and providing organizational and clinical leadership. This position will aid in the coordination and implementation of strategic nursing practice initiatives. The position will support the strategic goals and objectives for nursing services by identifying and developing process improvement initiatives and working with stakeholders on nursing project implementations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development, integration, and evaluation of nursing operations, nursing documentation and nursing care. • Facilitates nursing strategy and nursing delivery of the health system. Analyze, develop, and execute resource management modeling, inclusive of operational, electronic medical documentation, financial, and administrative models. Serves as conduit for communications and executions between nursing leadership and the CNE, to ensure system alignment and efficient progression of a united strategy. Assumes responsibility for continuously increasing clinical nursing operations and implementing systems that enhance the patient experience, improve the quality of care and employee engagement. Identifies resource needs for implementation of nursing operational plans and develops a resource tracking process that includes the organization of all care delivery models used in nursing. Evaluates current nursing practice, and facilitates the designs and development of innovative nursing practice. Develops and implements methods to create and facilitate benchmarks for nursing best practices. Creates and implements nursing care delivery models, based on acuity and complexity, inclusive of expectations and metrics. Works with nurse leaders to resolve clinical operation issues including clinical documentation. Provides senior nursing management with necessary updates on progress and changes in nursing operations. Ensures the incorporation of established professional nursing standards, guidelines, and competencies. Provide leadership for the strategic planning, internal and external reporting, and continuous quality improvement for all components of nursing. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Experience

Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Experience in hospital business operations highly preferred.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in business or in related field is required. Masters in Nursing or MBA highly recommended.

Skill

Strong problem-solving and analytic abilities are required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to perform as a team leader/member. Ability to handle multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to make sound decisions and be able to articulate reasoning for said decisions. Strong customer service orientation in all interactions as well as exceptions exercise of independent judgment.

Credentials

Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty. Valid RN license required.

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements - Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Jobs in this group are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: extended use of computers, preparing and analyzing data and analytics, and other components of a typical office environment.
