Position Summary
The Latasha Norman Center at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Administrative Assistant position.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Education
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Medical Office Administration, or a related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Required Experience
Previous experience working in a clinical setting as a secretary or office manager.
Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
None.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient with office desktop applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google.
- Must be able to walk in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out clerical and administrative tasks to assist with the daily operations of the office.
- Execute correspondences.
- Complete reports.
- Schedule meetings.
- Attend division administrative assistants’ meetings and trainings.
- Supervise student workers.
- Answer and return phone calls.
- Arrange travel plans for staff.
- Maintain office budget, confidential files, and other documents.
- Maintain leave reports for staff.
- Order supplies for the office.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, trainings, and programming.
- Other duties as assigned.
