Forklift Operator (Level 2)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works under the general supervision of the Operations Manager and/or Warehouse Lead to perform a variety of warehouse tasks and duties including, but not limited to, forklift and clamp lift operation, electric pallet jack, standup lift, and order picking, restocking inventory and the loading and unloading of freight. This position requires the use of machinery but also requires manual labor.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• 1 to 5 years of forklift experience in a warehouse environment. (wine experience preferred)

Skills/Abilities:

• Able to communicate fluently in English.
• Able to operate a variety of warehouse equipment including, but not limited to:
• Sit-down forklift
• Sit-down clamp lift
• Stand-up forklift
• Order picker / cherry picker
• Electric pallet jacks
• Scissor lift / man-lift
• Manual pallet jacks
• Ensure that daily inspections of equipment are completed
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Previous experience in a warehouse setting preferred
• Proficiency in using
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy items
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Familiarity with industrial equipment
• Basic math skills for quantity verification
• Excellent physical condition and coordination
• Valid certification to operate forklifts.
• Basic computer skills
• Use of RF scanners
• Must be able to repetitively lift 50 lbs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

• Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack or place them in assigned areas.
• Loading of trucks or cars with appropriate product/orders
• Moving items in receiving location to pick locations in racks.
• Replenishment from bulk locations/lanes to pull locations/lanes.
• Replenishment from case locations to bottle locations
• Accurately pull wines and dry goods from assigned locations
• Verify all aspects of outbound orders prior to release
• Repositioning and stocking wines pallets/freight
• Accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Order picking
• Accurately pull appropriate product from assigned locations
• Manual stacking, wrapping and shipment preparation, including case or bottle labeling.
• Assist in inventory cycle counts.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Safe and proficient operation of various forklifts and attachments
• Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager, Warehouse Lead, and/or GM.

Job Type: Full-time (40-hours per week on average)

Salary: $22.00 to $27.00 /hour DOE
