Library/Media Specialist
Promote and encourage reading. Establish objectives and plan learning experiences based on individual and class needs. Develop and implement policies and procedures for library media management. Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives. Organize media and equipment to provide accessibility for users. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. Exhibit positive human relations skills. Evaluate the Accelerated Reader Program and/or student progress where applicable. Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication. Maintain and submit required records and reports. Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state
and federal rules and regulations. Plan and accomplish personal professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics. Any and other essential functions assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
B.S. degree with proper State of Alabama certification
