Our NORAD Operations Group

 

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

 

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:

·Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.

·Mitigation of orbital conflicts.

·Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.

·Operations and maintenance of classified communications.

·Software development and integration.

 

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:

·Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado

·Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado

·Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska

·Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

·Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

Description of Duties:

The ISSO supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:

·Perform security analysis of operational and development environments, threats, vulnerabilities, and internal interfaces to define and assess compliance with accepted industry and government standards

·Support the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes under NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) for new and existing information systems

·Facilitates the development of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), Interconnection Security Agreements (ISA), Security Impact Analysis (SIA), and support Continuous Monitoring (CONMON)

·Coordinates configuration management of assigned systems; auditing systems to ensure security posture integrity

·Support assessments and test/analysis data to document the state of compliance with security requirements

·Conduct risk assessments and investigations, implement appropriate risk mitigations, and lead all aspects of incident response activities

·Conducts periodic hardware/software inventory assessments

·Collaborate with the appropriate government customers, suppliers, and company personnel to implement protective mechanisms and to ensure understanding of and compliance with cybersecurity requirements

Here’s what you’ll need:

Basic Requirements:

·Clearance: TS/SCI

·IAT II Certification (Security , etc)

·1-2 years of documented experience in conducting security control assessments for one or more Security Frameworks such as NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and/or JSIG

·1-2 years of practical DoD/USAF information security policy background with practical / hands-on experience applying RMF processes and principles.

·1-2 years of experience developing and/or contributing to RMF body of evidence composition, applicable artifacts, and associated RMF control families

·1-2 years of experience working towards an Authorized to Operate (ATO)

·1-2 years of experience using eMASS

·Current NISSC II Experience

Desired Requirements:

·Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)

·Experience entering information in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) or Xacta.

·Experience with cyber security policies and implementation of Risk Management Framework (RMF): e.g., DAAPM, CNSSI 1253, ICD-503, JSIG, or NIST SP 800 series

·Experience in assessing and documenting test or analysis data to show cybersecurity compliance

·Experience in utilizing security-relevant tool (Xacta, SCAP, ESS, ACAS, Splunk)

 

This position is expected to pay $95,000 - $105,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
