Jacobs is Hiring an Airport Civil Engineer Near Bellevue, WA
In this role, the Airport Civil Engineer will support aviation civil engineering projects at general aviation, commercial and military airfields with a focus on quality, and perform in a team environment. This role supports our growing U.S. West aviation practice. Such projects include, but are not limited to airfield improvements, land/site development, drainage, and other transportation tasks. In this role, you will: • Lead tasks and aspects of aviation projects, including client interface, subconsultants, constructors, and other outside agencies as needed. • Conceptualize the initial civil design approach for land/site development, airfield improvements, drainage, and related projects and continue through the design phase as part of a design team. • Use AutoCAD, Civil3D and civil engineering theories, concepts and practices and coordinate tasks with other team members. • Plan and conduct work requiring evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/ modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. • Resolve complex engineering problems. • Consult with project manager and design team on unusual problems and developments and manage change. • Participate in contract bidding and administration; observe project action on site and coordinate construction management related tasks. • Be a self-starter and responsible for quality work products, delegating tasks, bringing ideas to our project teams and striving for your own professional growth. • 4 year degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE or equivalent) • 2 years experience in aviation or related field • Experience working with AUTOCAD Ideally you will also have: • Near eligibility for Professional Engineering (PE) certification or ability to obtain Washington PE through reciprocity • Passion for aviation • Strong Proficiency in Civil3D • Experience with pavement evaluation and design under AASHTO and FAA protocols • Experience with the development of reports, plans and specifications using FAA, UFC, or ICAO
