We’re seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead siting, permitting, and licensing of critical energy infrastructure maintenance and replacement, renewable energy, and/or energy transformation projects. We support clients to adapt and thrive - both today and into tomorrow as the world changes and we face unprecedented challenges. You’ll apply and grow your technical and management experience in leading environmental planning and compliance; natural and cultural resources; and executing a permitting strategy. Your leadership will be key to realizing energy transformation for safer infrastructure operations, healthier communities, and protection of our world’s natural resources. This transitionary period from today to a decarbonized tomorrow, embracing this disruption, is called the energy transition. Jacobs is helping our clients navigate the future around decarbonization, electrification demand and decentralization, by providing innovative and efficient solutions. From aging and retiring asset bases in traditional base load power systems, to the increasing penetration of intermittent renewable generation, Jacobs is supporting power utilities and private companies all around the world to find the best solutions to their power and energy challenges.
The Power and Energy industry is at a junction whereby divergent paths are emerging, with quite distinct future scenarios. Aligned with our Seattle, Washington office, this is a hybrid position where you can work remotely and, in the office, as needed. You will have the opportunity to contribute to and manage projects and programs to avoid and minimize environmental impact while accelerating change through renewable energy, energy infrastructure, and energy transformation projects.
As an Senior Environmental Permitting and Planning Project Manager, you will lead environmental permitting and related efforts to support project development and meeting client objectives and project-specific internal financial goals. Your analytical and writing skills will be called upon as you lead development of quality client deliverables. Your project management or task leadership will include permit strategy and impact avoidance and minimization, permit applications, client communication, technical memos, and environmental compliance documents. You will provide motivation and direction to project teams, while you in turn are partnered with experienced project delivery and technical leaders and mentors to facilitate your project and career priorities. Our global team provides you with the tools to keep your career growing as well as those around you. • Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, environmental planning, or other related technical degree.
• Renewable energy and infrastructure modernization for a sustainable world as a career focus.
• Project management/task lead experience with a work history of increasing responsibility for resource planning and/or environmental permitting in Oregon.
• Specific training, knowledge, and experience necessary to develop, review, and coordinate project permit applications under city, county and/ Oregon Energy Facilities Siting Council (EFSC), Washington Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (EFSEC), and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations; knowledge of environmental regulatory processes and permit compliance.
• Ability to charter and lead a project or task team with a focus on safety, client service and internal delivery goals.
• Ability to foster relationships with large project teams, clients, client contractor staff, and third party consultants.
• Ability to work in the Pacific Northwest, travel occasionally to a client office, and travel to project sites within the state for planning reviews.
