It’s possible!Hybrid from your home base and our Fontana R&D plant.As the Senior Financial Analyst - R&D, you will be responsible for providing financial planning, analysis, projections, and actionable insights to the global Research and Development function that directly contribute to senior leadership decision making and drive the success of the function and broader business. As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will also use forecasting, budgeting, and modeling to support the business. In this role you will serve as the key business partner to the CTO and rely on relationships with other senior finance and business leaders across the company. What You’ll Do:
Develop flexible forecasting tools for monthly and annual budgeting process and monitor performance throughout the year to drive Research and Development (R&D) investment
Partner with the (Chief Technology Officer) CTO to drive global innovation strategy and goals
Support R&D initiatives through business case analysis and modeling
Leverage and analyze external data sources and market dynamics to monitor and assess potential impacts to the business
Liaise with finance teams and cross-functionally to enhance, implement, and drive adoption of existing and new processes and systems
Educate the business on risks and opportunities
Assess current systems and databases and design and develop enhanced data automation and financial tools, e.g., dashboards, to support business review at-a-glance
Correlate multiple data points to identify, synthesize and recommend on business decisions and direction
Innovate and develop creative ways to evaluate the business, find growth opportunities, and drive overall value in collaboration with business unit partners and leadership
Leverage historical trends analysis to provide direction
Operate as an integral member of the business unit team involved in day-to-day business process and advising on strategic business decisions to drive growth
Perform varied ad hoc analyses on the business across stated strategic priorities and metrics versus plan assumptions
Report actual results compared to targets for relevant measures and prepare variance analysis that provides meaningful forward-looking insight
Use analysis, modeling, market data and other skills and tools to identify key financial trends, insights, opportunities, and risks to the respective business unit or function in day-to-day decisions and with strategic initiatives
Drive process efficiencies to deliver clear insights efficiently
Support management decision making through modeling
Work cross-functionally to ensure connectivity on forecasted and actual performance across all critical players.

Bachelor’s Degree required, Finance or Accounting major preferred
Minimum of five years of analysis experience required
Experience in a large business unit within a sophisticated, global, public company environment preferred
Outstanding analytical skills with a high level of detail-orientation
Team player that leads with intellectual curiosity and stays current with developments and trend in areas of expertise; drive for continuous improvement
Strong interpersonal and oral/ written communication skills with the ability to relate well, cooperate, and build relationships with all levels to help achieve business goals
Constructively challenges business partner assumptions and goals
Proven ability to synthesize complex and detailed data into meaningful insights and make recommendations; articulates views in clear and concise manner
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and thinking independently about alternative solutions
Ability to connect the bigger picture to day-to-day operations of the organization
Expert skills with standard software and functionality (MS Office, pivot tables, v-lookups, and other financially related and proprietary software)
Results-oriented to ensure deliverables are submitted in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion; operates with a sense of urgency
Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent assignments while maintaining high performance standards and meeting deadlines
Proven ability to synthesize complex and detailed data into meaningful insights and make recommendations

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
