James Lane Air Conditioning Co., LLC, a Fidelity Company in Wichita Falls, TX, is looking for a Payroll & Accounting Assistant to join our growing team!
The Payroll & Accounting Assistant is responsible for maintaining payroll systems and processing paychecks according to schedule. Duties include consolidating timesheet information, entering data into payroll databases, calculating paycheck amounts, and distributing funds to employee accounts. The Payroll & Accounting Assistant ensures costs are accurate and reconciles discrepancies following James Lane's practices, policies, and procedures. He/she provides a high level of customer service by assisting co-workers in person and via telephone.
An ideal candidate will have knowledge of regulations, be detail-oriented, a strong commitment to confidentiality, and take direction well.
Primary Duties:

• Collect and verify timesheet data, banking information, and payroll information.
• Enter data into payroll, administrative databases, and software.
• Calculate paychecks incorporating overtime, deductions, and bonuses with the assistance of computer software.
• Prepare and process paychecks while maintaining accurate records and transaction documentation.
• Perform account balance and payroll reconciliations.
• Assist Human Resources Manager with payroll-related tasks, benefits, 401K, taxes, and reporting.
• Assist the Accounting Manager with journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and other accounting tasks.

Qualifications:

• At least two years of experience in accounting and/or payroll
• Knowledge of basic payroll concepts
• Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing, tracking details, and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and payroll software
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all departmental matters
• Always maintain a professional attitude.
