Jamestown Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Attendant to join our team! Our practice is a high-quality, multi-doctor, full-service hospital that has been a part of the Jamestown community for over 40 years.

Our veterinary assistants play an integral role in bringing comfort to our patients as well as ensuring proper organization and cleanliness of our hospital. Knowledge of routine animal care such as feeding, walking, and bathing as well as the readiness to care for scared or injured animals are some of the skills we are looking for with this opportunity. If you are organized, quick on your feet, and love caring for animals, then a veterinary assistant position at Jamestown Veterinary Hospital may be for you!

 Other responsibilities of a veterinary assistant include: 

• Cleaning cages/runs, walking dogs, and feeding boarders and hospitalized patients
• Cleaning examination tables and exam rooms between exams
• Assisting doctors & technicians in appointments or with surgical procedures
• Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hospital
• Answering phone calls
• Observing animal behavior/health conditions and reporting changes to the technicians or doctors
• Keeping accurate records and logs

We’ll love your passion, eagerness to grow and learn, and ability to work well with a team. In addition, some other qualities are important to us. These qualities include:

• Excellent communication skills
• Patient and caring personality
• Ability to follow instructions properly
• Comfortable being around animals (cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, etc.)

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule. However, we do require evenings, Saturday/Sunday shifts, and rotating holidays. Our veterinary assistants are an important part of our pet care team and help provide excellent care to our patients and outstanding customer service to our clients.
