SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager for an oil field operation is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes within the company. This role involves developing HR Strategies, overseeing recruitment, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with federal/state labor laws and regulations. The Human Resources Manager will work closely with the management team to ensure that the company’s human capital serves the best interests of the business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Relations and Strategy

  • Develops and administers company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
  • Analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on a variety of human resources issues.
  • Promotes positive employee relations through design, communication, and interpretation of human resources policies and programs.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Reviews employee relation’s issues and recommends appropriate responses to management.
  • Implement and manage employee recognition and engagement programs.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.

Recruitment and Staffing

  • Develop and implement effective recruiting and retention strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Oversee effective succession planning process.
  • Evaluate onboarding best practices to ensure a successful employee life cycle.
  • Coordinate with department heads to understand their staffing needs and requirements.
  • Coordinates exit interview process and communication of findings to management.

Training and Development

  • Coordinates training programs, personal and career development, performance appraisal process, compensation systems, diversity and benefit programs.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with Safety officer to monitor safety programs, risk and initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems .

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent, five to eight years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

High preference in ADP HRIS Systems experience.

Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.

Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.

Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. This includes having the ability to influence management when appropriate.

Understands the organizations value proposition and can articulate fundamentals of business and how the units tie together.

Able to champion new ideas, manage change, and execute on action plans.

Experience in all HR concentration areas such as benefits; compensation; workforce planning and employment; employee relations; occupational health, safety and security; strategic management; employee development; and training.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Strong business acumen.

Strategic thinker who can see long-term goals and balance against short and intermediate term needs.

Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.

Proficient on Microsoft office and 10 key skills.

Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Ability to prepare reports and company-wide business correspondence.

Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
