Social Media Specialist Position at JapanLA

Position Details:

JapanLA, a cute store located in Los Angeles that specializes in Sanrio (Hello Kitty) and other Japanese kawaii character brands, is currently seeking a full-time Social Media Specialist.

Position Objective:

Create fun, creative, and professional social media content that aligns with the brand and follows current trends. Develop, shoot, and schedule daily social media posts for JapanLA to promote sales both in our physical store and online store. Send out weekly newsletters promoting events, product launches, and sale campaigns. Implement friendly customer engagement across all social media platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Execute high quality lifestyle product photography and videography tailored for social media platforms
• Schedule and manage social media posts- Maintain weekly content calendar
• Manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns
• Answer customer DM’s and comments across all socials
• Create engaging content at on-site and off-site events
• Design digital flyers and engaging graphics
• Dispatch weekly email newsletters to boost sales
• Increase social media following across various platforms through engaging content and audience interaction
• Provide regular reports on social media performance and make recommendations for future campaigns
• Build and maintain relationships with influencers, content creators, and other industry professionals
• Ensure all social media content is thoroughly proofread and free of errors
• Assist the Marketing Manager with various tasks
• Assist with Livestream Show Set up

Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum 2 Years Social Media Experience
• Proficient at Photography and using camera / lighting equipment
• Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator
• Video Editing Software: Premiere and/or Capcut
• Familiarity with Japanese pop culture titles and products
• Able to swiftly generate creative content ideas that align with current trends
• Strong writing and editorial skills
• Must enjoy and thrive when in front of the camera
• Thorough knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter), and must stay updated on all emerging social platforms
• Knowledge of SEO principles and web analytics tools
• A passion for content creation and a fondness for the kawaii aesthetic is essential
• Familiar with Shopify / Mailchimp is a plus

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
