ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Perform a variety of mechanical and millwright maintenance duties with guidance and assistance from other higher classified maintenance mechanics.
· Work from detailed instruction or prescribed routine.
· Assist on major projects and assist others in the tear down and reassembly of operating mechanism, hold and position work, run errands or other similar assignments.
· Perform the more routine assignments involving carpentry, plumbing, masonry, etc., Work, such as cut and rip wood and build or repair floors, stairs, etc., mix mortar or cement and repair concrete surfaces, oil and lubricate equipment, replace defective filters, etc.
· Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and report any damaged or faulty equipment during PM.
· To maintain continuous movement of work, use hand truck, lift truck, overhead crane to move work to and from designated storage, staging areas, or workstation.
· Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality and quantity standards.
· Keep work area neat and clean on a daily basis.
· Adhere to established safety rules and policies.
· Notify Supervisor or Safety Director of any unsafe act or practice stopped.
· Keep Supervisor full informed of any work-related problems.
· Read and interpret measuring devices.
· Perform daily lift truck inspections.
Requirements:· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 3 years work experience.
· Practice good oral and written communication skills.
· Have or secure forklift certification required.
· Participate in training events (ie; Lockout/Tagout; HazCom; and overhead crane training)
· Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
· Possess basic math skills.
· Possess basic organizational skills.
· Maintain positive attitude towards work and work environment.
