Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Founding Unity Engineer that is interested in being part of the early team at JARS AI. The role is primarily based in NYC, but with plenty of flexibility around remote work. You will have a high level of autonomy and be responsible for the overall architecture design, implementation, and maintenance of our experience channels.
Ideally you’re a domain expert in 3D level design, and are able to bring both the creative side as well as depth on the code execution front.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Founding Unity Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality interactive 3D applications using Unity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Implement performance and quality modules.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
- Proven experience as a Unity or Unity3D Developer.
- Strong knowledge of 3D development and integrated game physics.
- Experience with scripting, textures, animation, GUI styles, and user session management.
- Familiarity with level design and planning.
- Experience with game physics and particle systems.
- Experience with mobile and console game development.
- Good knowledge of C#.
- Experience with memory and space optimization.
- Knowledge of 3D graphics, WebGL, and shaders.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Familiarity with current design and architectural patterns.
- Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code.
- Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
- Proficient knowledge of code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, or Mercurial).

- Strong experience in Unity programming and development
- Experience building video games end-to-end
- Knowledge of C# and object-oriented programming principles
- Experience with game engines, graphics programming, and optimization
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in a startup environment is a plus
- An IC role that grows into a hybrid IC/Team Lead role within the next 12 months
- Experience with Unity Plugin/SDK development
- Building a developer community
