About us

Jasmin Child Care and Preschool is a multicultural child care center. Our purpose is to actively work holistically to eliminate educational disparities that are associated with: the need for support structures, resources, and tools to succeed, effective communication, and cultural understanding/awareness.

We all work together to provide a nurturing and caring environment.

We are looking to hire someone to oversee our preschool program's daily operations. You will assist the center director in ensuring that our preschool program is well-coordinated and productive by managing its operations and coaching its people. The area of responsibility for this role requires knowledge of curriculum development, creating and implementing lesson plans, classroom instruction, management, coaching, and development skills.

POSITION PURPOSE

This position is accountable for ensuring that the preschool program provides a warm, nurturing, safe, and loving environment for each child, where self-concepts are enhanced, independence is encouraged, and individuality is respected among all people. This person is responsible for the preschool program's instruction and the day-to-day operations serving children 3 to 5 years of age.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Classroom:

- Responsible for the classroom instruction and teaching of the preschool.

-Development and monitoring the curriculum implementation, ensuring it is developmentally appropriate for each group of children served (Toddler, Preschool). This curriculum must include social, emotional, cognitive, and physical activities.

-Create lesson plans that are stimulating and developmentally appropriate, assisting teachers in their implementation.

-Stimulate staff with new ideas, resources, and developmentally appropriate materials.

Parents:

-Develop and maintain communication links with parents using Brightwheel and promote opportunities for parent engagement.

Staff:

-Manage day-to-day operations of the preschool program, including scheduling and supervising staff and maintaining appropriate classroom staff ratios.

-Establish and maintain good communication between staff and director.

-Coaching and developing teachers and assistant teachers.

Administrative:

-Participate in the hiring, orientation, training, and evaluation of teachers and assistant teachers.

-Schedule, plan, and direct monthly staff meetings.

Additional Duties:

-Attend and participate in professional training and conferences

-Seek opportunities for quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and other resources to raise the standard of quality beyond licensing standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

-Must have one of the following:

o Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR

o Degree in a related field with at least 24 college credits in Early Childhood Education or Development OR

o CDA OR

o one year of experience as a Preschool Teacher at a childcare center

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

-Experience working in a multicultural environment

-Multilingual
