Jasper Electric Motor WinderJob Overview: Jasper Electric Motors is looking for a Motor Winder to join our team. In the Motor Winder position, you will be responsible for rewinding various kinds of basic electro-mechanical equipment, including removing original winding, inspecting for winding failure damage, winding, and performing voltage testing on standard/basic windings. As a Motor Winder, you will apply strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to perform quality repairs to prepare stators and/or armatures for AC/DC electric motors.Schedule:Monday – Friday (6:00am to 4:00pm)On call rotating schedule for after hours, holidays, and weekendsQualifications:High school diploma or GEDStrong familiarity with various electric motor & generator connectionsStrong knowledge of AC and DC theory and electrical circuitsA solid mental acuity to accurately follow instructions and work procedures.A positive, team-oriented attitude in which you will take pride in your work and hold yourself accountable for the quality and accuracy of your work.A solid mechanical aptitude, including ability to effectively use all common hand tools and understand common geometric shapes.Solid shop arithmetic skills including basic algebra.Basic PC skills to check/reply to email and basic data-entry into production system.Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.Responsibilities:Primary focus on a safe work environment and employing safe work practices on a consistent basis.Responsibility to prevent damage due to mistakes or carelessness to equipment or materials.Use of considerable judgement to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available, and the making of broad decisions involving considerable initiative and ingenuity.Working in a diverse team environment.Concentrated mental and visual attention in laying out or otherwise performing complex work to very close limits of high accuracy and quality; or in coordinating a high degree of manual dexterity with close visual attention for sustained periods.Ability to rewind motors with little or no supervision.Ability to wind round and shaped wire to form series; interpole, brake and other similar coils.Ability to operate multiple coil winding machines.Install coils.
