Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for a 6 month contract in Chicago, IL. This role involves advising Group Heads and managers on people and culture initiatives, providing guidance on employee relations, facilitating performance evaluations, coaching managers, and supporting talent management efforts. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted partner to Group Heads and managers on people and culture initiatives.
Coach managers on employee relations and the interpretation of personnel policies.
Conduct 1:1 meetings with employees to build relationships and offer coaching when needed.
Facilitate the performance evaluation process and assist managers in providing feedback.
Support the talent review process and identify high-potential employees for succession planning.
Assist with business reorganizations, including communication strategies and reductions in force.
Lead HR projects and initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met.
Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding experiences.
Provide regular status updates to stakeholders on business developments.
Backup for recruiter duties such as candidate scheduling, communications, and interview screenings.
Conduct behavioral interviews for candidates.
Facilitate 360 reviews as required.
Review and assist in developing bank policies and procedures.
Input personnel-related actions and data in Workday.
Provide HR reporting and staffing-related data as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
5-7 years of human resources experience.
PHR/SPHR certification or advanced degree is a plus.
Experience in banking or financial services is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
HRIS Experience Required, With Workday Experience Preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Access, Word).
Experience with analytical software and data visualization tools (e.g., MS Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
Self-driven with a strong track record of initiative and accountability.
Ability to manage tasks in a small HR team environment.
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
High professionalism, diplomacy, and emotional intelligence.
