Jazz Pharmaceuticals is Hiring a Remote Marketing Associate Director, Haematology, Germany (Remote)

The Associate Marketing Director (AMD) will play a key role within the Business Unit Oncology in Germany and will be a member of the BU Leadership Team. AMD will be a strong strategic driver of the haematology business beyond a single brand, being responsible for the development and the execution of the haematology portfolio strategy with three brands on the market. AMD will be responsible for aligning a cross-functional team around clear brand strategies while leading, inspiring, developing and motivating the cross-functional team to successfully achieve portfolio and organizational objectives.
AMD will participate in the forecasting process and in the setting of annual sales and budget targets for haematology brands. AMD will develop and execute comprehensive brand plans to achieve sales targets by managing marketing priorities and activities which support overall P&L goals. AMD will own brand planning process and will lead cross-functional team consisting of medical affairs, marketing, sales, network management, and market access in the brand planning. AMD will provide project management leadership to ensure brand development milestones are achieved through coordination of cross-functional teams. AMD will also support the selling process in conjunction with the sales director, will closely monitor and analyze sales performance in key accounts. AMD will take part in regular Account Reviews to challenge, support and input in Key Account Planning. Being ambassador for haematology brands AMD will act as a driving force for initiatives not only within marketing department but for the haematology therapeutic area.
AMD will drive product adoption and potential maximization within approved indications, develop the short, mid and long term strategic and operational brand plans while remaining committed to the Jazz patient focus and company values. The role will have a strong internal and external exposure with a robust relationship to EE (External Experts) beyond a single brand. This position will report into the Business Unit Head Oncology.
AMD will anticipate, analyze and solve unique and complex problems around current and future haematology portfolio with a broad impact on the business, AMD will actively contribute to the development of the BU strategy and its operational execution combining portfolio strategy with key account focus. AMD will lead the development of the brand strategies and will anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues. The AMD will own and lead focus growth for main brand. AMD will support the brand plans of 2 further products. The AMD will be responsible for the development, approval and implementation of specific programs, omni-channel engagement strategy and commercial materials and will develop robust relationships with affiliate and regional staff to ensure internal optimisation of H/O portfolio strategy.
AMD will closely collaborate with the Regional Brand Leads and international commercial teams to develop and deliver Jazz´s regional strategy and congress engagement plans AMD will influence and co-shape the regional brand strategy, generate ideas, and push for relevant European initiatives, which have even broader impact on the brand performance. AMD will ensure German needs are taken into account on the EUR/INT level by regular collaboration with the EU/INT Marketing and Brand Teams, Med. Affairs and Operational Excellence (i.e. market research).
Essential Functions
  • Develop and steer commercial strategy for haematology portfolio by establishing synergy within brands and projects
  • Leading the development of the detailed 1-year, mid- and long term cross-functional brand plans also with global marketing, medical, and commercial teams, including development of strategy, positioning, sales forecasts, communication plan (publications, congresses, etc), EE-Engagement, rising star development, sales targets, competitors to align to global strategies as appropriate and ensure targets are met
  • Responsibility for the effective implementation and leadership of specific programmes and commercial materials for haematology portfolio in particular lead omni-channel H/O strategy and implementation of digital initiatives
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise and knowledge in therapy areas (AML, ALL, SCT) by studying scientific literature, participating in congresses, obtaining regular feedback from field teams, interacting with EE and other business intelligence sources. - Work closely with German key external experts
  • Act as a main contact for sponsorship of study groups and organisation of symposia at study group meetings
  • Actively contribute to the Key Account Excellence by providing analysis and steering activities to accounts, where most patients can benefit from; support field team in key account projects in close collaboration with the Sales Director
  • Development of specific local promotional materials, campaigns and programmes (e.g. iDetailAids, leavepieces, slide sets, briefing documents etc) ensuring all are reviewed and approved in accordance with JAZZ Pharma standard operating procedures, work closely with other functions to facilitate timely approval and delivery of materials. Ensure credibility and professionalism in all product communication activities, campaigns and digital and print materials
  • Engage with key internal stakeholders in the development and approval of materials including Medical Affairs and Compliance.
  • Manage agencies and contractors effectively to ensure high quality outputs and value – Improve, orchestrate and introduce multi-channel activities
  • In depth training of field team on brand’s communication strategy and promotional materials - Oversee the competitive landscape and shape corrective action plans accordingly
  • Support regional market research initiatives by providing local inputs into the research, analyse market research results and shape plans accordingly
  • Lead the development and execution of the congress plans (this includes amongst other things: plan Jazz congress presence, symposia with selection and briefing of key EE, oversee HCP sponsorship planning/execution process and develop congress guidance and brief Jazz staff accordingly on congress activities) to ensure effective HCP engagement and business delivery
  • Develop and conduct high quality medical education events incl. CME certified events
  • OPEX responsibility and operate within agreed budgets ensuring optimal investment of promotional resources, use synergy between brands to optimize expense and maximize outcome.
  • Monitor and analyse the impact of activities within the promotional mix in order to maximise effectiveness
  • Work with the finance team to ensure that planned expense estimates are accurate and regularly updated to reflect deviations from plan Typical Outputs
  • Act as a role model and be an ambassador for JAZZ Pharma following JAZZ Pharma mission, values and vision and further build the reputation of JAZZ Pharma as a credible partner in haematology and/or oncology across the region
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Proven Pharmaceutical Sales Experience in a hospital environment.
  • Proven project skills
  • Essential: At least 5 years' experience in pharmaceutical marketing, including multi-channel marketing experience
  • Preferably Oncology and/or haematology / Orphan Drug experience
  • PhD or equivalent
  • Excellent IT skills - familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational

  • Ability to influence and generate commitment from others without direct authority
  • Strong inter-personal skills, collaboration and teamwork

  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal/ communication skills to interact with Healthcare Professionals and colleagues in 1:1 and group settings
  • Ability to work well and deliver high quality results even under pressure
  • Essential: very good command in spoken and written English
