- Working in and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Perform all required duties in a timely manner as outlined in the S.O.P. (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers.
- Understand and demonstrate company Bio-Security requirements.
- Achieve Level III PQA (Pork Quality Assurance Training)
- Understand and demonstrate correct animal handling techniques at all times.
- Understand and demonstrate safe and efficient power washing techniques.
- Understand and demonstrate the need for correct methods of medication handling and storage.
- Understand and demonstrate correct methods of euthanasia and dead animal disposal.
- Understand and demonstrate correct methods of treating and vaccinating of animals.
- Understand and demonstrate general housekeeping and sanitation skills (example: laundry, showers, medication rooms)
- Understand and demonstrate under indirect supervision semen collection and handling and boar handling.
- Understand and demonstrate principles of feeding boars.
- Show initiative to seek other work upon completion of a task.
- Competent level of self-motivation to complete tasks.
- Be willing to participate and take an active role in biosecurity and safety committees.
- Be willing to participate and take an active role in system improvement teams.
- Be willing to participate and take an active role in culling boars.
- Be willing to participate and take an active role in maintenance of the facilities and equipment used therein, including welding, plumbing, electrical, ventilation and flush systems.
- All other duties as may be assigned.
