Production Scheduler

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Production Scheduler to join our Rendering team in the Corporate Office. The Production Scheduler will coordinate logistics both truck and rail, to move rendered materials from our plants to customers across the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and book OTR transportation for Rendering plants with tanker and hopper equipment
  • Create and coordinate Rendering Order entry for service team
  • Create and coordinate load schedules with Rendering plants
  • Accurate and timely entering of Rendering daily inventories
  • Forward Schedules Entry
  • Rendering Customer Service (Invoice issues, PO’s)
  • Rendering Reporting
  • Develop working product knowledge in order to assist customers
  • Monitor Rendering Tracking spreadsheets
  • Freight Bill Tracking/Reporting for Rendering
  • Team Coordinated Reporting
  • Ensure proper credit release is coordinated for plant release of shipments
  • Transportation and data entry claim submission
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, AG Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to details
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in booking hopper and tanker trucks strongly preferred 
  • Experience within the transportation/logistics industry required
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel required
  • Ability to work independently and know when to ask questions
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Strong time management skills required
  • Experience in SAP preferred
  • Experience in Red Prairie, Order Management, Quintic, and/or BlueJay preferred 
  • Weekend availability required (approx. one Saturday per month)
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $60,000-$70,000and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
