JD Ross Energy are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a reputable energy company specialising in solar and battery energy storage projects in the commercial and industrial space. The successful candidate will become a focal part of an exciting pipeline of projects and will be responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of solar PV systems and BESS solutions for C&I clients across NSW and Victoria.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, the Solar Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting technical aspects of solar projects, from pre-sale operations to post-installation support.
• Lead the engineering design and development of solar PV systems and BESS projects from conceptualisation to commissioning.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy audits for potential clients.
• Design and develop system layouts, including electrical, structural, and mechanical components.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and construction.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their energy needs and develop customised solutions.
• Provide technical support to clients during the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and contractors.
• Stay up to date with industry developments and best practices in solar PV and BESS technology.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 3 years of experience in solar PV engineering or a related field
• Experience in BESS systems design and implementation
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems and electrical engineering principles
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and electrical engineering simulation software (e.g., ETAP)
• Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with modelling software like PVSyst & Homer (highly regarded)
• Clean Energy Council accreditation for PV systems, off-grid systems, and BESS systems (highly regarded)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word and Excel
