Jefferson Center for Mental Health is Hiring a Director of Operations Near Wheat Ridge, CO

Under the guidance of the COO, the overall responsibility of the Director of Operations is to plan, develop, organize, implement, and monitor current and future strategies to streamline and develop business processes. To align with new Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) regulations and CCBHC requirements, expand clinical quality initiatives and oversight and maximize efficiencies across the Center and other partner operations. This position will lead quality initiatives including designing key performance indicators (KPIs) and developing feedback loops for continued improvement. This is to be accomplished through active collaboration and engagement with Center leadership, staff, RAEs, state agencies and other stakeholders. Additionally, this role will continue development of clinical tools to support improved consumer service hours productivity and ongoing projects to decrease administrative burden. Finally, this position supervises the work of the Quality Manager, Manager - Office of Consumer and Family Affairs, and Manager of Contracts and Compliance.

Essential Duties: 

1) Oversight of operations activities related to BHA rule implementation and policies & procedures creation.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory and funding agency requirements.
  • Implementation of processes to ensure adherence to new policies & procedures.
  • Monitor the assessment and training of new policies & procedures.
  • Collaborate with the IS team regarding Center’s EHR, including development of new product, administrative issues and training development.

2)  Creation and oversight of Quality Improvement strategies that align with CCBHC requirements.

  • Oversight of ongoing Clinical Quality Initiatives including, but not limited to CCBHC, NOMS tracking and feedback, Eleos and OWL implementation, and value-based contracting.
  • Implementation and oversight of clinical outcomes measurement tools.
  • Project Director of CCBHC grant.

3) Provide oversight of Quality Department.

  • Supervision of the Clinical Quality Manager.
  • Coordinate with Quality Manager to develop and monitor QI and QA plans and serve as backup for the Clinical Quality Manager as needed.

4) Provide oversight of the Office of Consumer and Family Affairs.

  • Supervision of the Manager – Office of Consumer and Family Affairs.
  • Serves as backup support for manager as needed to address consumer related grievances.

5) Provide oversight of Compliance and Contracts Manager.

  • Supervision of Compliance and Contracts Manager
  • Coordinate implementation of new Concord contract management system and contract approval workflows.

6) The Director of Operations is committed to Jefferson Center’s culture of change, clinical excellence, high performance, and data informed decision making.

  • Effective leader and change agent within the organization.
  • Provides input and support in performance improvement projects using applicable methodologies, such as CQI, LEAN and Human Centered Design Thinking.
  • Uses data to inform the decision-making process.
  • Evidence of timely and accurate work production required.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment.

Education, Experience, Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health, healthcare administration or related field.
  • 3 years of experience with a combination of behavioral health administration, clinical practice, and/or clinical supervision. 2 years of experience with practice management and compliance.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid in medical/behavioral health setting, systems design, and behavioral health regulation and oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, oral and written communication, presentation and teaching experience and skills.
  • Experience and ability maintaining a high level of efficiency and compliance with administrative rules and standards.
  • Experience with relevant computer applications.
  • LEAN or other quality improvement experience preferred.
  • Electronic Health Record documentation practices and functionality knowledge, Netsmart preferred.

Salary Grade 17- $83,900 to $106,700*

Additional Salary Information*:

  • All salaries at Jefferson Center are calculated based on years of total relevant experience.*
  • The salary range above is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.*
  • Additional pay provided for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.*

*This position qualifies for a limited time grant funded bonus of $1000 paid on the one month anniversary!*

Additional Bonus Information*:

  • Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week*
  • Must work a minimum of 20 hours/week to be eligible for bonus*
  • Current Jefferson Center employees not eligible for sign on bonus*
