Jefferson City School District is Hiring an Instructional Coach 6-8 Near Jefferson, MO

POSITION TITLE: Instructional Coach
FLSA: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper state certification
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or other Supervisor
Instructional Coach Instructional Coaches report directly to the Associate Principal of Curriculum & Instruction. Instructional coaches work with the campus leadership to manage a continuous improvement effort as outlined by the Superintendent and Board of Education. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in best practice instructional methods, curriculum alignment, response to intervention models (RtI), professional development and delivery, and Missouri state assessment requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assists in the development and implementation of curricular programs to ensure student learning/achievement.
  • Assists instructional staff in developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Train teachers on the characteristics of effective and efficient classroom environments and provides focus on content and learning strategies embedded into the programs being implemented.
  • Co-teach/or demonstrate lessons in classrooms to build instructional skills in the delivery of content instruction and to ensure the fidelity of specific program implementation and intervention support.
  • Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies to improve student achievement for all students.
  • Train teachers and principals in critical components of instructional delivery and research-based strategies.
  • Assist campus principals and lead teachers with planning and/or conducting grade level meetings to analyze assessments and plan for instruction.
  • Analyze assessment data and assist the campus principals and teachers planning professional development to meet specific needs of teachers.
  • Provide on-site staff development to ensure that teachers are knowledgeable about program components and alignment of curriculum with Missouri Learning Standards and assessments.
  • Assist teachers in using data to identify students for intervention instruction.
  • Provide professional development on the use of assessments to guide classroom instruction.
  • Assist teachers in implementing continuous progress monitoring.
  • Assist teachers with monitoring and reporting student performance during the year and setting goals for improved instruction.
Education And/Or Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years classroom teaching.
  • Instructional leadership experience preferred.
  • Graduate coursework in curriculum and instruction preferred.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to interpret data, statistics, and generate statistical inferences based on student, staff, and campus/district data.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, administration, and staff.
  • Ability to effectively lead professional development in a manner that is conducive to the development of staff and maintains their interest.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsCandidates must possess a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate.
