Jefferson Consulting Group is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near Washington, DC

Jefferson Consulting Group is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support the Mission Support TeamThis role will be Hybrid requiring working on-site one day per week in the Jefferson office located in Washington DC. Additionally, this position will be required to work on-site to assist with events while also attending company sponsored events and functions at the Jefferson office as well as various locations in the DC Metro Area.

The Human Resources Coordinator will support the Human Resources team in making Jefferson a great place to work. This individual plays a large role in serving as a people ambassador by providing a welcoming, informative and respectful experience for all of our employees. This position requires an individual that will be passionate about workplace happiness and fostering a work environment consistent with the company culture.

The Human Resources Coordinator must demonstrate active listening and exhibit organizational skills. This position requires an individual that is customer oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities with deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail. Reports directly to the VP of HR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation of a work environment that reinforces our company’s culture by developing and administering engagement opportunities for deeper employee connections within a remote work environment
  • Assist with multiple on-boarding tasks for new hires, ensuring a best-in-class experience for each new team member
  • Administer Jefferson’s promotional marketing items & clothing online store
  • Coordinate employee engagement events and programs to create a highly engaged culture in which team members feel valued. This will include virtual and in-person employee networking events, team building events, company outings, and Jefferson’s primary in-person events (Summer and Fall)
  • Support and coordinate Vitality Wellness Program initiatives; working with the HR Team to create and encourage innovative ideas relating to the wellness program; creating and distributing wellness-related communications firm-wide; promote and educate staff on the wellness program
  • Promote employee awareness, understanding, and participation in employer-sponsored engagement programs
  • Administer volunteer and community service program
  • Assist with projects and tasks associated with our cultural development, employee appreciation, and recognition – including employment anniversary cards, birthday cards, baby announcements, new employee welcome gifts, thank you notes, ordering flowers/gifts for special occasions 
  • Update and make recommendations for the HR SharePoint employee page
  • Provide logistical support for conferences and events. This may include researching hotels and meetings spaces, arranging for catering and/or dining reservations, and making other arrangements
  • Provide office management and administrative support. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, managing the office voicemail, scanning and process mail, maintaining office cleanliness, restocking items, and reconciling monthly invoices
  • Responsible for miscellaneous support to the HR team to include data management, ad hoc projects, and day to day HR related tasks & employee support

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in an HR Department
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field 
  • Meticulous attention to details
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • A desire to work in a professional environment
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and business ethics
  • Eagerness to learn and develop your HR knowledge and skills
