Reports to: Jefferson County Mississippi Nursing Home Board of Trustees

Position Purpose:

To direct operation of the Jefferson County Nursing Home, a 60 bed licensed facility which provides skilled and intermediate shelter care for adult day care.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF DUTIES:

The Administrator reports directly to the Board of Trustees. The Administrator is to perfect and submit to the Board of Trustees for approval, a table of organization of the personnel and others connected with the operation of the nursing home.

To select, employ, control, and to discharge all employees of the nursing home, subject to the personnel policies and procedures.

To assist the Board of Trustees in the preparation of the annual budget required by law to be filed with the Board of Supervisors on or before the 1st Monday of September of each year, and to assist in filing of the annual fiscal year report required by law to be submitted on or before the first Monday of January of each year as provided by Section 41-13-47 Miss Code of 1972.

To attend all meeting of the Board of Trustees and its committees; to submit regularly to the Board or its authorized committees, periodic written reports showing professional service and financial activities of the nursing home and to prepare and submit such special reports as may be required by the Board; to serve as the liaison officer, and channel of communications for all official communications between the Board of Trustees and the Medical Staff; to cooperate with the Medical Staff and to secure like cooperation on the part of all those concerned with the rendering of professional service, to the end that best possible care will be rendered to all patients.

To supervise all business affairs such as the records of financial transaction, collection of accounts, purchasing and issuing supplies, and to make sure that all funds are collected and expended to the best possible advantage.

To improve his/her professional qualifications through a continuing program of education, attend meetings and institutes sponsored by nursing home organizations that are necessary in his/her discretion to familiarize him/herself with the changes and current trends in the nursing home field, and utilize all facilities at his/her disposal to improve his/her knowledge, to the end that the finest patient care will be rendered at the lowest possible cost.

To see that the building, equipment, and grounds are kept in a good state of repair.

The Administrator shall have the authority to sign on behalf of the Jefferson County Nursing Home participation agreements. All contracts are to be brought before the Board of Trustees for approval. All travel and accommodations expenses that are to be reimbursed by the nursing home is to be brought to the Board of Trustees for approval before expenses incur as provided by Section 41-13-35 (5c). The Administrator shall not use his/her personal funds to pay nursing home expenses.

The Administrator works a 40-hour week, but is on call at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $103,443.00 per year
