Jefferson Health is Hiring a Medical Assistant Supervisor - Ob/Gyn Care - Deptford, Sewell & Stratford, NJ Near Camden, NJ
ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Assistant Supervisor hires, trains, supervises and evaluates department medical assistants. He/she assists physicians as they assess, examine and treat patients and updates electronic medical record (EMR). Responsibilities include patient flow management, and assisting with medical and/or minor surgical procedures and tests on patients. Tests may include allergy patch tests, biopsies and phlebotomy. Acts as the liaison to physicians to assure patient satisfaction with their visit. In addition, maintains and orders the clinical and non-clinical supplies for their area.
QualificationsHigh School graduate or GED equivalent is required. Successful completion of an approved medical assistants program is required.
Medical Assistant certification is required.
A minimum of two years of experience as a medical assistant supervisor in an outpatient setting is required. Prefer three or more years of experience in a physician office, hospital or ambulatory care facility as a Certified Medical Assistant.
For NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program which includes, at a minimum, 600 hours of instruction and encompasses training in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous injections .
Conditions of Employment Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
