Oncology Triage Registered Nurse Announcement #268066 Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend, WA is currently in search of a per diem Triage RN to join our Oncology Team. The role involves providing expert triage services within a provider's practice, working closely with Oncology/Hematology Providers to assess patient symptoms, educate patients and families about symptom management, and coordinate care for patients starting new cancer and hematology therapies. The responsibilities of the RN include demonstrating excellent customer service and communication skills, working effectively as part of a team that prioritizes patient care and experience, and documenting all communications in the electronic medical record. Additionally, the nurse will facilitate patient visits with the Provider, assist in scheduling appointments with specialists, provide education to patients and staff about clinical issues, and facilitate oral chemotherapeutic regimens including prescription management, refills, assessing patient compliance, and educating patients about their oral agent regimen calendar. The nurse will also collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the care and services they need, including social services, palliative care, and hospice care. What you'll need:
Current Washington state RN license in good standing
BLS Certification required
ACLS Certification required within 6 months of hire
NIHSS Certification required within 6 months of hire
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
One-year acute care experience preferred
Specialty areas may require additional experience, certifications, and license
