Role and Responsibilities:

• Schedule production, manpower and changeovers and communicate needs to supporting departments
• Supervise the work of hourly associates by ensuring quality standards, training staff, and overseeing productivity
• Recommend to department management and Human Resources progressive discipline, promotions, and terminations
• Complete daily timekeeping and administrative duties
• Conduct meetings with team leader and associates regarding safety, production, quality and delivery
• Continuous improvement activities (e.g., work instruction creation and modification)
• Learn and participate in new model activities and serve as a trainer to associates and staff on the operation of new lines, i.e., load, PQ and trouble shoot
• Assist TL on floor for any TL activities to ensure optimal production situations
• Provide information to internal and external customers when requested
• Take personal responsibility and accountability for correcting customer service problems and serve as a trusted advisor to the customer by providing value added decision-making ideas and information
• Other duties as required by management.

Qualifications:

• BS/BA Degree or 2-5 years of equivalent experience; Internal candidates should have at least 2 years experience in a previous leadership role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred
• Prior experience utilizing ERP software. Experience utilizing the Plex ERP system is highly preferred
• Ability to make sound timely decisions through problem-solving and investigation
• Basic knowledge of welding principles, e.g., projection and mig
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• High volume resistance spot welding experience preferred
• Lean Manufacturing/JIT Environment experience
