JEM Consulting Services LLC is Hiring an Industrial Engineer Near Erie, PA

Job Summary:

The Industrial Engineer will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing operations. This position will focus on plant layout design, conducting time studies, and implementing process improvements to optimize production workflows and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Layout Design:

  • Design and optimize plant layouts to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Conduct spatial analysis to ensure optimal placement of equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement changes to the plant layout.

2. Time Studies:

  • Conduct time and motion studies to analyze and document current production processes.
  • Develop standard work instructions and cycle times for various manufacturing operations.
  • Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement and recommend solutions to streamline processes.

3. Process Improvement:

  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of process improvements.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with production managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand operational challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Provide training and support to employees on new processes and improvements.
  • Prepare and present reports on findings and recommendations to management.

5. Project Management:

  • Lead and manage projects related to process improvement, layout changes, and other engineering initiatives.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in plant layout design and time studies.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
