Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Material Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating material requirements for construction projects, with a focus on lumber and hardware supplies. This role involves working closely with our sales and operations teams to provide accurate and timely estimates to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Estimation:
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project plans to prepare accurate estimates for lumber, building materials, and hardware.
• Calculate the quantities and costs of materials required for various construction projects, including residential, commercial, and DIY projects.
• Customer Interaction:
• Communicate with customers to understand their project needs and provide detailed material estimates.
• Assist customers with product selection and provide expert advice on materials and building techniques.
• Vendor Coordination:
• Collaborate with vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure the timely availability of materials.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers to stay informed about market trends, new products, and availability.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals and cost breakdowns to customers.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, customer interactions, and relevant documentation.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with industry standards, building codes, and product advancements.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in material estimating, preferably in a lumber and hardware environment.
• Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive estimates for various types of construction projects.

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills to calculate material quantities and costs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with customers and suppliers.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing estimates and documentation.
• Education:
