Position: CAD Technician/Drafter

 Jet Technologies, a thriving plastics fabrication company located in Elkhart, IN, specializing in custom CNC machining, thermoforming, and assembly, is offering an enticing opportunity for a CAD Technician / Drafter. The chosen candidate will answer to the Engineering Manager and work alongside Product Development Engineers and Tooling Designers. They will spend most of their day modeling and drafting in SolidWorks to assist the Engineers and increase overall throughput in the department. This will be done by completing requests and changes by modifying and generating CAD data, and then supplying the data to costing and manufacturing. Direction for design will be provided in the requests, or by an Engineer. This position offers a competitive salary, commission incentives, and an outstanding benefits package. 

Job Requirements:

• Skills with SolidWorks CAD software.

• Knowledge in blueprint making.

• Basic understanding of tolerancing and dimensioning.

• Ability to use MS office (Outlook, Excel), basic computer skills.

Additional Desired Skills (Not Required, but Preference Will Be Given For):

• Skills in AutoCAD, SolidWorks PDM, and MasterCAM.

• Knowledge of GD&T.

• Knowledge of manufacturing with CNC routers.

• Understanding of Vacuum forming.

• Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities Include:

• Updating CAD files for changes.

• Generating CAD under the direction of a Product Development Engineer.

• Generating part prints.

• Supplying engineering data for costing.

• 3D scanning parts.

• Organizing and maintaining data within PDM.

• Potentially document control in the future.
