The Jewish Community Center of Louisville is seeking a Fitness Director to oversee a thriving Group Fitness, Personal Training and Fitness program. The Director will be expected to provide excellence in customer service, sales, programming, safety and cleanliness. The Director must be detail oriented, organized, flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordination
· Oversee the sales of personal training to new and existing members with the help of the Assistant Fitness Director.
· Analyze market needs, create and adapt programming to meet the needs and demands of current and prospective members
· Develop and implement programs and special events as they pertain to group and personal training
· Oversee group fitness class scheduling and substitutions, ensuring classes are never cancelled with the help of the Group Exercise Coordinator
· Oversee all aspects of communication of group fitness programs including: maintaining updated schedules and instructor changes
· Work with membership director to funnel leads from new member joins to fitness programs
· Continually audit and evaluate all classes and programs, solicit feedback, review and analyze results.
· Prepare statistical reports pertaining to group fitness and personal training usage
· Be available to assist at the Fitness Desk as needed.
Supervision
· Recruit, supervise, coach, train and evaluate all group fitness instructors, personal trainers, floor staff and other part-time staff as needed
· Promote a professional work environment through character development by modeling JCC standards and values
· Process payroll for 100 employees
Facility/Equipment:
· Ensure fitness facilities are clean, well-maintained, and relevant to providing excellent programming
· Maintain inventory to purchase equipment as needed
· Maintain/repair fitness equipment.
· Work cooperatively with outside services to both service and repair equipment as needed
· Purchase and maintain appropriate inventory of needed supplies for the department
Budget:
· Manage budget of $500,000
· Implement systems and work with staff to reach the departments financial goals
· Utilize finance forms as appropriate including purchase orders and check requests
Work Requirements: Stooping, bending, standing, smiling and lifting
