Jewish Community Center is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Cherry Hill, NJ

Job Summary:
The HR Manager is responsible for assisting, directing, and overseeing HR at all levels of the organization. HR Manager will ensure HR is in alignment with the mission, values, goals, and culture of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and its family of agencies.
The HR Manager will be hands on, boots on the ground; bring a blend of functional HR and people management experience to this dynamic role. HR Manager will have a proven ability to deliver an informed opinion to the Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer and oversee day-to-day staff inquiries and situations. HR Manager will roll up their sleeves to manage the administrative needs of our centralized HR function.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Enhance the organization's Human Resources by assisting the Chief of Human Resources and Administration with employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining positive, productive work environments through conducting human resource and professional development activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of the HR generalists and support staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Interprets a variety of written materials (e.g. transcripts, references, employment records, education codes, employment regulations, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, expense reimbursement, and vacation.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Human Resources and Administration to develop and implement HR strategies that support the overall objectives of the organization.
  • Manage the various modules of ADP, such as onboarding, benefit plans, rates, recruitment, payroll, PTO etc.
  • Partner with the Chief of Human Resources and Administration on confidential projects.
  • Provide coverage in the absence of the Chief of Human Resources and Administration.
  • Assist with internal investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and risk mitigation.
  • Assist with managing accurate and compliant record systems for employee data and lead the HR team in maintaining official employment files.
  • Assist with the supervision and mentoring of the HR team; strategically and proactively seek ways to improve the department's functionality.
  • Assist with providing day-to-day HR management and guidance for all staff in the areas of: FMLA, NJFLA ADA, and all employee leave; manage any workers' compensation reporting issues; track and manage all UI; benefits; exit interviews; etc.
  • Perform regulatory filing such as EEO1, affirmative action, OSHA and process variable hour assessments.
  • Assist with working with the union and engage in collective bargaining, working together to improve the terms and conditions of employment and have open and honest conversations with the union leadership and membership.
  • Lead open enrollment by working with ADP, brokers and HR Generalists. Proven ability to rollout an effective open enrollment from start to finish.
Required Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
PHR, SHRM - CP - At least one of these certifications is required and must be current.
Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience
  • Minimum 5 years of HR management experience supervising HR Generalists.
  • Experience working within a multi-level organization, equally comfortable relating to line staff as well as members of the C-suite.
  • Solid understanding of federal and New Jersey state labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, EEO, ADA, ACA, workplace safety, and workers' compensation
  • Sound knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficient in ADP HRIS and all modules of ADP.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to implement vision, think strategically, creatively problem solve, and exercise excellent judgement.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and address high-risk situations quickly and professionally.
  • Proven ability working with a union and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team; delegate well, define and enforce responsibilities, and motivate staff to progress and succeed.
  • Knows and completes responsibilities in assigned timelines; asks for clarifications when needed.
Additional Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a general comfort with technology
  • Advanced proficiency with HRIS systems ADP Workforce Now required.
