Position Title :Employment Case Aide
Organization : Jewish Family Service of San Diego
Department: Refugee Resettlement
Position Type : Full Time (37.5 hours/week), Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Refugee Resettlement
Pay Rate: $20/hour

Position Overview:
JFS is looking for a compassionate, mission-driven individual to join the Employment team as the Employment Case Aide. In this role, you have the opportunity to use your critical thinking skills and direct service experience to make a meaningful difference in your community and help change lives across San Diego. The Employment Case Aide plays an integral role on the team and supports the entire agency by ensuring all resettlement services to target populations are completed in an efficient and timely manner.This position reports directly to the Employment Program Manager and works closely with the Employment Team and the rest of the Refugee Resettlement team.
Responsibilities :
  • Implements Refugee Employment programs following program guidelines and ensuring compliance of service throughout program activities
  • Provides support to case manager by assisting with coordination of services per family based on family needs, transportation to appointments and additional follow ups as needed
  • Provides culturally competent case management to ensure highest level of culturally appropriate service to diverse client population
  • Participates in ongoing trainings and HIAS cohort meetings as assigned
  • Conducts home visits to deliver relevant client documents, check on family status and provide transportation to appointments
  • Acts as a collaborative team player with a can-do attitude, flexibility in a busy office environment, and possess quick critical thinking ability to identify creative solutions to complex challenges
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:
  • Familiarity with social service delivery and underlying philosophies or willingness to learn
  • Experience working or volunteering with individuals with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Basic typing and computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Valid California Driver's license, good driving record and a reliable vehicle
Skills/Abilities We'd Like You to Have :
  • High School or GED
  • Second language skills: Arabic, Swahili, Dari, Pashto, French, Kinyarwanda
