Jewish National Fund - USA is Hiring a Business Manager Near New York, NY

Position overview:

Jewish National Fund-USA seeks a Business Manager to beresponsible for the planning and execution of all in-person events that take place in the Manhattan National Office (JNF House) as well as other in-person and virtual events in the Tri-State Region as needed. This role will also support our C-suite. This position will be based out of Jewish National Fund-USA's NYC office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Tri-State Center of Excellence Director and campaign staff to define event goals, objectives and implementation plans for events.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Department to determine necessary printed and digital matter needed such as: Invitations, Save the Date cards, Event signs/banners, décor, eblasts, A/V materials, etc.
  • Execute/coordinate all aspects of event logistics (timeline, invitations, catering, A/V, music, rentals, script, etc.) in coordination with fundraiser, committee members and event chairs
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with outside vendors to ensure lowest costs and highest quality of service in coordination with Director of National Events or Event Strategists.
  • Work with Chief HR Officer on JNF House rentals and apartment
  • Support the C-suite with any onsite meetings or events
  • Assist campaign staff to pull relevant data reports from Salesforce.
  • Responsible for budget creation for events, obtaining budget approval and adherence to approved budgets.
  • Coordinate and run in-house technology for in-person event and meeting AV and virtual program operations, including stage management, Zoom Meetings and Webinars, hybrid events as needed
  • Enter/assign/monitor status of tasks in Salesforce
  • Keep event details up to date in Salesforce and Inspire Planner Project Management system
  • Ensure necessary inventory of event supplies is available on-site. Organize facility and manage all event's details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc.
  • Manage Manhattan National Office's calendar and working with the facilities team to coordinate logistics, food, A/V, and security for all meetings.
  • Create opportunities for staff appreciation for all staff based out of the Manhattan National Office.
  • Ensure processing of payments to vendors.
  • Build relationships with suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day.
  • Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes
  • Coordinate with Administrative Assistants on events
  • Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills including Salesforce or other database.
  • Strategic, out-of-the-box thinking a must.
  • Be extremely detail oriented and able to multi-task in an exceptionally busy environment.
  • Pro-active and energetic; ability to work on own with minimal daily supervision.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times.
  • Be a team player with a "customer service" mentality and ability to work with many people and personalities.
  • A "no job is too small" attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • 5 years Business experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
