Job SummaryResponsible for shipping warehouse operation including preparing material for shipment as well as loading trucks for shipments. Scans finished goods from production to storage location in the warehouse. Moves products to be shipped from production or storage area to staging area, or truck. May place cartons or bags on pallets as necessary. Performs Receiving duties as needed. Will perform other functions as needs and situations unexpectedly arise.
Primary Duties
  • Assembles product for shipment -observing proper product and count as well as checking quantities of load versus bar codes. Records correct counts on pick lists. Scans finished goods from production to storage location in the warehouse. Operates power forklift truck to move product to truck or staging area, or to storage area.
  • Transports finished product from production departments to shipping. Completes moves from warehouse locations to other warehouse locations. Uses forklift to load shipments onto trucks confirming correct material and quantities are being loaded.
  • Cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Check forklift battery daily. Completes daily forklift inspection sheets.
  • Records/confirms correct quantities and product are assembled for shipping orders and records the information on pick lists. Verifies, against the packing list, that correct quantities and product are assembled for shipments. Use RF guns or computers to record located finished goods as well as material moves.
  • Performs receiving duties as needed.
  • Keeps departmental work areas, aisles, and storage areas safe, orderly, and free of obstructions. Must properly store items so maximum use of area is accomplished. Also responsible for general housekeeping, inventories, and re-warehousing. This includes sweeping on a regular basis and mopping areas when needed/instructed.
  • Responsible for observing safety rules at all times. Reports unsafe conditions immediately to their supervisor. Reports all dropped/spilled loads.
  • Duties assigned by their supervisor.
Education, Training, & ExperiencePosition requires one of the following:
  • A minimum of one (1) year high school
  • GED equivalency
  • Six (6) months’ experience is necessary to develop skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.
Special Equipment Or Other RequirementsPower forklift truck, hand lift truck, dock plates, dock locks, loading ramp, strapping machines, and nail gun. Must have license to operate power forklift truck. Must have some computer skill including use of RF Guns. Syteline a plus.
