Hours: Ideally candidates will be available Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Job Summary: The person holding this position will be primarily responsible for performing job duties outside of the classroom but will also act as a substitute teacher in classrooms when needed.

Description of Responsibilities:

• Teach and show God’s love for each child.
• Teach each child how Christ asks us to love one another.
• Set a Christian example for all children, their families and center staff.
• Maintain a clean, ordered environment that is inviting to children and families.
• Implement and supervise classroom curriculum when in the classroom that is consistent with the mission of JLU Child Care.
• Follow daily classroom schedules.
• Teach children proper hygiene, toileting techniques, nutrition and physical activity.
• Knowledge and compliance of all NYS OCFS regulations and JLU policies.
• Maintain required center documentation as required.
• Attend required staff meetings and training programs.
• Maintain a level of professionalism, respect and compassion for all employees, parents and children.
• Must be able to stay standing for majority of your job responsibilities and the duration of your scheduled shift.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds regularly.
• Flexibility and understanding that job tasks may vary throughout duration of employment to meet the needs of the center.
• Commitment to the JLU program for a minimum of one year.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• HS diploma is required at minimum
• Desire to share God's love to children and families
