JM Eagle is Hiring a Production Operator - Night Shift Near Kingman, AZ

Production Operator manufactures, visually inspects and packages pipe in accordance with JM Eagle specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Unitize pipe on line.

2. Perform all necessary measurements to ensure pipe is in tolerance.

3. Accurately complete Production Inspection Report and supporting documentation.

  • Record bi-hourly line checks and notify any changes to supervisor.

5. Report any problems to Supervisor.

6. Operate forklift to take units out, take out scrap, change color boxes or move supplies.

7. Identify visual defects in pipe.

8. Accurately calculate and make required adjustments to the lines.

  • Make minor repairs to equipment.

10. Record machine conditions and report any abnormality to Supervisor.

11. Accurately calculate machine rate.

12. Clean extruder and cooling tank water filters.

13. Make and collect Q. C. samples as required.

14. Make die adjustments for proper centering of pipe wall.

15. Assist during startup, shutdown and change over.

  • Train inexperienced employees on the job.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly to “Total Housekeeping Management” and “ISO” standards.
  • Use safe work practices and report hazardous conditions.

19. Perform other miscellaneous jobs as directed.

  • Must be able to utilize and understand the bar code system to make bundle tags and end of shift report.
  • Follow the guidelines, policies and procedures of JM Eagle.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Review the quality and appearance of finished products and makes most required machine changes with the approval of Supervisor. Work independently as well as under the general directions of the Production Supervisor, Production Lead Man, Plant Superintendent and Plant Manager. Maintain working relations with all departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Capability to work 12-hour shifts. 90-day on the job training/ probation to determine ability to perform job requirements of this position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Basic math skills and mechanical abilities. High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Some computer experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to read and speak English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, etc.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Having adequate capability of sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate all powered vehicles, i.e., sweeper, forklifts.
  • Sight capabilities to distinguish proper product identification as well as warning and operational indicators.
  • Hearing capabilities to distinguish difference in warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling capabilities to handle job requirements such as operating, cleaning or packaging equipment and products.
  • Balancing to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching in all areas.
  • Hear and understand verbal communication whether it be face to face or via the telephone.
  • See and understand written communication.
  • Ability to confirm by sight quality level of raw materials and products produced to determine acceptance or denial of each.
  • Climb and descend all ladders or steps whether fixed or portable on company facilities in order to access all areas if needed.
  • Lift up to 25-50 lbs. and carry up to 30 ft.
  • Push and/or pull up to 1,500 lbs. up to 30 ft. with the aid of material-handling equipment.
  • Walking through, around and under equipment with a clearance of up to 30 inches.
  • Ability to feel objects, such as textures, size and shape and to determine temperature by touching.
  • Ability to grasp tools (manual as well as powered) and use them in accordance with a safe-working manner so as not to injure oneself or fellow employees, i.e., power saws, drills, hammers, presses, latches, etc.
  • Sight capabilities to safely operate at arms length machinery and power and/or hand tools needed to accomplish the requirements of the job assignments for the position.

  • Inside and outside environments apply.
  • Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
  • Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.
  • Subject to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gasses, high heat or explosives.
  • Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts. Subject to oils and other cutting fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.
