SUMMARY

The Distribution Center Maintenance Technician I is responsible for assisting in the performance of preventative and routine repair maintenance under the supervision of maintenance technician II / B or III / A on battery changer, rolling equipment, mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical systems and facilities maintenance to include both interior and exterior as per maintenance supervisor direction.

JOB DUTIES

• Changes and maintains batteries on rolling stock equipment.
• Assists in the routine repairs on, mechanical, rolling stock equipment, fire prevention system, outside routine maintenance and racking repairs or installations
• Assists in routine preventative maintenance tasks, mechanical, rolling stock equipment, fire prevention as directed
• Performs routine building maintenance such as painting walls, repair roof leaks, minor plumbing, repair door locks and other building related maintenance.
• Set up offices and assist with moving furniture, hanging fixtures, etc.
• Maintains cleanliness of plant, rolling equipment, machinery and maintenance areas
• Follows detailed instructions from level II / B or III / A technician or maintenance supervisor in written or verbal format.
• Maintains work orders, preventative maintenance and inventory tracking systems, via spread sheets, data bases, or maintenance software
• Complete other special projects or duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to walk up to 10 hours a day on concrete floor
• Ability to climb stairs in multi-story structures
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education Minimum : High school diploma or equivalent

Education Preferred : Some maintenance certifications in a major component of Distribution Center plant maintenance or some college technical classes.

Experience Minimum : 1 years' experience in maintenance, industrial or Distribution Center setting

Experience Preferred : 1-3 year's industrial plant maintenance technician experience comparable to level I or C

Range of Pay for Position (Final pay rate is based on experience and qualifications) : $22.50-$30.50
