Job DescriptionJob Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Software Developer II in Huntsville, AL or Quantico, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and implementing Government Off The Shelf (GOTS) software tailored to specific requirements or methodologies necessary to meet procedural needs. The Software Developer II (SD II) will create software tools that incorporate system calls to other third-party tools and specified utilities. Additionally, the SD II will design, maintain, and implement original software applications based on high-level, non-specific concepts provided by the government. The SD II will develop software for large and complex systems, as well as web-based query and reporting systems.
Responsibilities Of a Software Developer Ii Includes:Proficiency in multiple programming languages is essential to fulfill diverse requirements. The contractor must be well-versed in various scripts, programming languages, and operating systems. Current relevant programming languages include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities Of a Software Developer Ii Includes:Proficiency in multiple programming languages is essential to fulfill diverse requirements. - C#
- Python
- PowerShell
- .NET
- SQL, XML, WSDL, Angular, HTML
- JavaScript
- Microservices Architecture
- Developing technical strategies to integrate disparate software applications by creating original software programs.
- Designing and developing original software applications based on high-level, non-specific concepts provided by the government.
- Writing programs to achieve desired outcomes or workflows based on observations or vague concepts.
- Producing specifications and design documentation, including process flows, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, physical architecture, system and web service interface specifications, data dictionaries, and data models.
- Creating project work estimates.
- Implementing solutions and identifying operational or management issues.
- System design, policy development, database development and management, and user interface development.
- Utilizing Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software as much as possible to avoid proprietary systems.
- Understanding Information Security Systems (ISS) and security standards for Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU) and classified data.
- Familiarity with the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA).
- Experience deploying container-based solutions.
- Proficiency in HTML and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of Microservices Architecture.
- A four-year college degree in software development or computer science, and five years of experience in software development for production systems as detailed above.
- Alternatively, ten years of software development experience for production systems may substitute for education, provided the experience is at or above the described position level.
