We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Environmental Specialist with a strong background in manufacturing to join our dynamic team.
This is a permanent role where you will be responsible for ensuring the environmental performance of our manufacturing processes.
You will be working closely with various departments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. This role requires a high degree of technical knowledge in areas such as calibration, EHS policies, and wastewater treatment.
Responsibilities :
As an Environmental Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include :
1. Implementing and maintaining environmental management systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
2. Conducting regular environmental audits and inspections to identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
3. Developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures, including EHS policies.
4. Overseeing wastewater treatment processes, ensuring they meet all necessary regulations and standards.
5. Providing technical guidance on environmental issues to various departments within the company.
6. Leading environmental training programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of environmental regulations and responsibilities.
7. Managing calibration of equipment and systems to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
8. Responding to environmental incidents, coordinating investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
9. Collaborating with management to develop strategies for reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainability.
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role, you will need :
1. A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, EHS or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management in the manufacturing industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
4. Proven experience with wastewater treatment and disposal and calibration of control instrumentation. .
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.
7. Proficiency in using environmental monitoring and data analysis tools.
8. Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong commitment to promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
