Couchbase is looking for a well-rounded, strategic People Partner to join our organization. You willCreate Value and your impact will Be Valued. You will assist leaders and employees to implement a global people strategy to support business objectives. This role requires both global and regional experience in a matrixed environment.

As your primary responsibility, you will work with the executives of our Engineering and Product organizations, building strategic partnerships enabling their business strategy through our people. You will directly impact the future of the “world class team” who work at Couchbase and solidify Couchbase's reputation as an "employer of choice." Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leaders to identify, design, and drive People Partner strategies, including not not limited to advising on strategic reviews of each org, org design, workforce planning, employee relations, performance and development
  • Enable data driven decision making by delivering analysis, insights, and impact recommendations in key people metrics, including engagement, retention, diversity outcomes and talent development for the organization you will support.
  • Support strategic initiatives for the People Partner team, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
  • Counsel and/or coach leaders regarding employee relations
  • Conduct investigations into leader/manager/employee complaints or grievances, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Partner with our DE&I team on deploying strategic areas for the organization.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders across the People Team (Talent Acquisition, People Partner and People Operations, Talent Development and Total Rewards), Finance and Legal teams to evolve and implement services, processes, and People initiatives.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 6 years’ experience in a People function with increasing levels of seniority and complexity over the length of your career.
  • People Partner experience in a global, complex growth technology company.
  • Possess strong influencing skills and experience handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Structured thinking and possesses sound business judgment and acumen.
  • Both strategic, in terms of seeing around corners and planning for the People implications of business growth, as well as operational, willing to roll up sleeves and work with the team in a hands-on way to implement People-related programs.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience driving an organization’s strategic vision and ability to operationalize and execute against our priorities.
  • Proven ability to handle employee relations matters effectively and confidentially.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience working with Engineering and Product leaders.
