Senior Geologist

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to join their team in Northern California (Sacramento or Bay Area). This role involves leading geologic aspects of geotechnical projects, conducting critical analyses, preparing comprehensive reports, and mentoring junior geologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Geotechnical Project Review: Lead expert for reviewing geologic aspects of projects.
  • Slope Stability Analyses: Conduct detailed stability assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Fault Investigations: Perform investigations to evaluate seismic hazards.
  • Ground Motion Hazard Analyses: Analyze seismic impact on structures and infrastructure.
  • Geologic Hazard Reports: Prepare reports for educational institutions and OSHPD projects.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior geologists towards obtaining their PG and CEG certifications.
  • Regional Leadership: Support all NorCal offices with expert guidance.
  • Professional Associations: Participate in associations like AEG to maintain industry presence.
  • Business Development: Assist with business development using technical expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in geologic investigations and hazard analysis.
  • Certifications: Must have a current PG license and CEG certification.
  • Skills: Proficiency in analyses, strong report-writing, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Professional Involvement: Active in associations such as AEG.
  • Business Acumen: Experience in supporting business development initiatives.
