**Job Description**
Position Title: Production Forklift Driver - Labor Grade 19
Shift Hours:** 2nd Shift (3 PM - 11 PM)
The Production Forklift Driver will be trained on all necessary job steps. The role involves various responsibilities across multiple departments, including handling dies, laminations, hoppers, floor supplies, production parts, stock areas, shipping, annealing, dock area, and the tool room. This position requires adherence to safety protocols, efficient material handling, and maintaining a clean work environment.
**Responsibilities:**
- Participate in stretching exercises at the start of every shift.
- Review Job Safety Analysis sheets, Safety Checklists, and required PPE with the supervisor.
- Follow instructions on daily clean-up tasks.
**Production Lamination:**
- Transport dies without feet using sleeves on the forks.
- Move dies to and from the Toolroom for repair or changeover.
- Stage or bring dies to press if required.
- Remove lamination from staging areas and place them in the furnace area.
- Empty all scrap and trash hoppers in the lamination department.
- Monitor and manage Grossman hoppers, ensuring they are replaced when full.
- Keep pallets and plywood well-stocked and organized.
**Production Parts Department:**
- Handle dies by placing them in and out of presses and transporting them to the Toolroom.
- Manage stock by organizing parts, stacking pallets, and baskets.
- Maintain the shipping area by stacking boxes, organizing items, and ensuring correct placement.
- Ensure a clean environment by emptying scrap and trash hoppers and stacking empty baskets and bins outside.
- Assist in unloading trucks with various materials, such as coils, parts, baskets, or lumber.
**Production Annealing:**
- Properly place lamination in designated locations.
- Keep the dock area clear and organized, managing boxed lamination and pallets as needed.
**Production Tool Room:**
- Transport and organize dies and bolster plates.
- Perform inspections on the forklift at the start of the shift.
- Ensure the forklift is charged when necessary.
- Keep the forklift clean and trash-free.
**Essential Functions:**
- Adhere to all safety policies, safety training, and hazard communication information.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors, managers, and coworkers.
- Frequently perform physical tasks, such as gripping, turning, pushing, bending, and occasional reaching.
- Sit for long periods and work in hot and cold environments.
- Demonstrate dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate various equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Inspect and ensure equipment is in proper working order before use.
- Obtain and maintain a forklift operator license.
- Comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Maintain regular attendance and be punctual.
- Work overtime as required, including weekends and on short notice.
**Qualifications:**
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
- Certification on the forklift every three years.
- Flexibility to perform other tasks not listed as needed.
